MOUNTAIN FORMALS, UT by Ricardo Quintana

This couple killed it! We started on time and ready to get to Albion Basin in little cottonwood canyon.  After a couple of minutes their car overheated so we had to hitchhike to my car. Then,  my car decided to just turned off, seriously, it just happened, my car was in the shop the day before and it was all good.  We had to wait for a couple of minutes and even a small prayer I turn on my carand drove it at 5 mph. We finally got to an awesome location, not what we had planned but, everything worked out beautifully and I think it was mainly for the amazing attitude Ryan and Cat had during the whole shoot, so upbeat, positive, and full of energy!

Suggested song "Girl on Fire" by Alicia Keys.

For this shoot we did first look and then bridals.

UTAH STATE CAPITOL FORMALS by Ricardo Quintana

This weekend was the fabulous wedding of this amazing couple and, I couldn't be more happy to have been chosen as their photographer.  Erika and Christian are such a cool laid back couple and should I mention that they are both seriously attractive!  I've been at the capitol many times and every time I go there I'm always amaze of how beautiful this building is.

MOUNTAIN FORMALS by Ricardo Quintana

What a pleasure to take pictures of friends!!! These I took in  October and I'm already missing the warmer weather and more sunsets. Anyway! Laurita is one of my best friends and I had the privilege to help her to look for the wedding dress which once you watched this pictures you will realized how beautiful it is.

FEELS LIKE SUMMER - CORA by Ricardo Quintana

Cora feels like Summer, flowers, green and sunlight.  One more time we team up with Cora, this time just a laid back shoot in some garden and it is pure magic! Cora is only 15 years old and, she totally looks 15 in person but, in front of the camera she can transform to what ever the camera asks. She is also an actress and singer. Currently she juggles from school to two musical and other projects, kids nowadays! Can't wait to see what the future holds for this amazing teen.

GOLDEN GATE, SAN FRANCISCO by Ricardo Quintana

I love going with Pablo and Karen around the city and taking pictures. We did get full rain the whole weekend but, see for yourself the results!

Ronny + Jose by Ricardo Quintana

Ronny is from Colombia, he is a superb photographer. I had the chance to take pictures of him and his partner Jose from Spain, both now currently living in a cool apartment in downtown Santiago - Chile. I got to say that in home shoots are the bomb, maybe is not always the best light but the ambiance and the intimacy that creates this scenery is the best. We played some cool and mellow music and started in their living room, the balcony and then to their room, that kind of flow is what I just enjoyed so much about in home shoots, so personal and unique for each family and couple. These two were fantastic, so natural and comfortable with each other-pure joy.

This set is one of the couple of shoots Ihadduring my two weeks visiting Chile.

Monse + Marie "The Sonet" by Ricardo Quintana

This pictures were taken in Chile collaborating with the fabulous photographer Ronny Garcia.  He would have all the credit for gathering the beautiful models (Marie and Monse), hair and make up artist (HMUA - Daniela Semidey) and, the gorgeous and whimsical dresses by Maria Eugenia Couture. This serie is a bit of a dream a bit of reality. There are a couple of verses from Sonet LXXXI of Pablo Neruda.

'Already, you are mine. Rest with your dream inside my dream.
Love, grief, labour, must sleep now.
Night revolves on invisible wheels
and joined to me you are pure as sleeping amber.

No one else will sleep with my dream, love.
You will go we will go joined by the waters of time.
No other one will travel the shadows with me,
only you, eternal nature, eternal sun, eternal moon.'

"Without you, I am your dream, only that, and that is all." - Neruda

Carolina + Andres Wedding by Ricardo Quintana

Carolina is an wonderful photographer and Andres is a great cinematographer, no pressure with this couple. I met Carolina by posting a picture in the group Looks Like Film on Facebook and since then, we have been following each other on Instagram. We met a couple of months ago and clicked since. She is super generous and cheerful about photography, we sat a photoshoot to just learn from each other and just happens that she was engage, so I took some pictures of Carolina and her fiancee and, she took pictures of my girlfriend and myself. The whole thing was a success because we all got along really well, then she hired me for her wedding.

For the wedding day I was a tad nervous because this was the first wedding that I was shooting for a photographer, and if you check out her work, and you should! It is beautiful so the bar was high. They wanted a simple and intimate wedding and I just enjoyed so much being part of it. THANKS a ton for let me being there and capturing those precious moments.

Back to Black (Romance in the Graveyard) by Ricardo Quintana

I always wanted to do a shoot in a graveyard and I'm was so excited that all came together so last minute.  Back to black is an inspired shoot by the idea of a widow visiting the graveyard of her late husband who she "encounters" every time she visits. Didn't wanna use lots of make up of a big production, just wanted to be simple and let you decide if this encounters are imaginary,  real or maybe the guy whom presence she feels is not really the late husband.  Also, in poetry and music the symbol of death reference to a female. With this reasoning I listen to the song Back to Black by Amy Winehouse and it just made sense to me.

"We only said goodbye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her (death)
And I go back to
I go back to us..."
