CHRISTIAN + SILVIA by Ricardo Quintana

Canción sugerida "Longing To belong"  by Eddie Vedder.

CATHARINE + RYAN by Ricardo Quintana

This couple killed it! We started on time and ready to get to Albion Basin in little cottonwood canyon.  After a couple of minutes their car overheated so we had to hitchhike to my car. Then,  my car decided to just turned off, seriously, it just happened, my car was in the shop the day before and it was all good.  We had to wait for a couple of minutes and even a small prayer I turn on my carand drove it at 5 mph. We finally got to an awesome location, not what we had planned but, everything worked out beautifully and I think it was mainly for the amazing attitude Ryan and Cat had during the whole shoot, so upbeat, positive, and full of energy!

Song suggested "Girl on Fire" by Alicia Keys.

THAD + AREN by Ricardo Quintana

Thaddeus Maximus and Aren Muse one looks like a Roman Emperor and the other is like a Greek Hero.  This amazing couple was a dream to shoot with, plus they went with all my crazy ideas.  We spent a whole afternoon starting in Salt Lake downtown and, later we landed on the fabulous Little Sahara.

The day, the outfits, the locations and the emotions. It all came together and I'm so happy to have met this loving couple and get to know their beautiful story.

For some reason I just think of this song while I was taking pics in little Sahara, is in spanish ha! So I'm not sure if they are going to understand it but it is my song suggested for this shoot.

"Tuyo" by Rodrigo Amarante.

UPDATE:  I had the honor to have this shoot published on Junebug Wedding

MELISSA + KB by Ricardo Quintana

I was dying to post this set! I felt so happy the day they asked me to take their bridals, I mean, look at this stunning couple! Plus, they are looking their sharpest, Melissa looks like a Goddess with the flowers and details on her head and,  KB could be in a GQ magazine with this slick suit of his own brand.

For this shoot we did first look and then bridals.

Song suggested XO by Beyonce but I'm actually listening Mine by Beyonce and Drake ha.

Dress: Fantasy Bridal Ut

Flowers: Flower Patch Utah

Suit: Kenneth Boggs Suits

Update: This shoot was published by Aisle Perfect Magazine.

ANGELA + RYAN by Ricardo Quintana

First wedding of the year is here with Angela and Ryan. This charming couple started in the morning with a mini shoot at the beautiful Utah State Capitol building and, later to the city of Provo in the Downtown Provo Temple. I just love the design and how different this LDS temple is, as you can see all outfits were on point and, I couldn't be happier with the results with all the group pictures including bridesmaids and groomsmen. I have a ton of fun with this loving couple and their families!

On a side note,  I sent this pictures two weeks ago to the bride and she said " Ricardo I could not be happier with this photos! You did such a beautiful job capturing the essence and joy of our wedding day..." Reading this just makes my heart really happy and encourages me to keep   going strong on my career. I'm so looking forward for all the weddings I have booked already,  I have the best people to work with!

Song suggested to watch this pics "Say you wont let go"  by James Arthur.

HAILEY + STATLER by Ricardo Quintana

Just look at these two!!!  I feel that in these shoot there are three stages and I really love each one of these. First, an aerie and romantic orchard scenery. Second,  a muted and more profound stage with with a small tunnel and a white wall and third, the fiery sunset with deep strong colors.

Song suggested "Certain Things" - James Arthur.

COLOR WALL by Ricardo Quintana

Impromptu editorial photo-shoot with these good looking guys. I love outdoors and nature, but on the other side, urban is not bad at all!  Also, if you want to collaborate or work with me for your business I'd love to help and discovered more on that area.

Invitation to all of you who want to improve in photography, or maybe who are learning or even those who are already professionals,  just keep doing a lot of creative work, of what ever moves you or inspires you, try to learn something from a shoot, don't be afraid of getting out of your comfort zone! I just keep pushing myself and sometimes is not easy, not at all! Still though, when I do it, is just very rewarding.

Suggested song Ivy - Frank Ocean.

NATALIA + IGOR by Ricardo Quintana

These two classy Brazilians were so much fun, we went up to Park City and stop on the way to take some pics in Deer Creek.  I met Natalia years ago and we just lost touch, I was super pleased she contacted me for taking pictures for her engagement and wedding.

If you may just listen to the song Chegaste by Roberto Carlos and Jennifer Lopez.

AMANDA + ALFREDO by Ricardo Quintana

This is one of my favorites places in Utah, I suggested and suggested a million times as an alternative for couples and, for some reason they always picked something different. Last week I had two shots (couple and bridals) in the dunes. Hope you like this shoot and visit this beautiful place if you can.

Amanda and Alfredo were fantastic, both dressed on point and just super laid back and natural.

TALLY + BRANDON by Ricardo Quintana

Winter engagements in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The three of us almost froze to death but it was all worth it, ha. Tally and Brandon were seriously incredible, I'm looking forward to their wedding.

KADEN - WALKING AROUND by Ricardo Quintana

Initially this was going to be a couples shoot but, Kaden's couple couldn't make it. Instead, we just took a couple of portraits with my favorite book with poems of Pablo Neruda.

Walking around was my selection because I have to make a confession, sometimes I get discourage with humanity and "I get sick of being a man,"  do not despair though, I love humanity.

Walking around.

"It so happens I am sick of being a man.
And it happens that I walk into tailorshops and movie
dried up, waterproof, like a swan made of felt
steering my way in a water of wombs and ashes.

The smell of barbershops makes me break into hoarse
The only thing I want is to lie still like stones or wool.
The only thing I want is to see no more stores, no gardens,
no more goods, no spectacles, no elevators.

It so happens that I am sick of my feet and my nails
and my hair and my shadow.
It so happens I am sick of being a man.

Still it would be marvelous
to terrify a law clerk with a cut lily,
or kill a nun with a blow on the ear.
It would be great
to go through the streets with a green knife
letting out yells until I died of the cold.

I don't want to go on being a root in the dark,
insecure, stretched out, shivering with sleep,
going on down, into the moist guts of the earth,
taking in and thinking, eating every day.

I don't want so much misery.
I don't want to go on as a root and a tomb,
alone under the ground, a warehouse with corpses,
half frozen, dying of grief.

That's why Monday, when it sees me coming
with my convict face, blazes up like gasoline,
and it howls on its way like a wounded wheel,
and leaves tracks full of warm blood leading toward the

And it pushes me into certain corners, into some moist
into hospitals where the bones fly out the window,
into shoeshops that smell like vinegar,
and certain streets hideous as cracks in the skin.

There are sulphur-colored birds, and hideous intestines
hanging over the doors of houses that I hate,
and there are false teeth forgotten in a coffeepot,
there are mirrors
that ought to have wept from shame and terror,
there are umbrellas everywhere, and venoms, and umbilical

I stroll along serenely, with my eyes, my shoes,
my rage, forgetting everything,
I walk by, going through office buildings and orthopedic
and courtyards with washing hanging from the line:
underwear, towels and shirts from which slow
dirty tears are falling."- Pablo Neruda.

ANNIE IN WINTER by Ricardo Quintana

Annie is an arsty lady who just stand in front of the camera and look cool, just like that. She has a unique style an sense of fashion, check her instagram ( @annie.allen ) and enjoy all the cool 80's kind of vibe she brings on her gallery. For this shoot we went to Wheeler Farm in Murray and just walk around the beautiful cabins and outdoor space they have. It sure was cold but we still had a blast shooting and talking about art, photography and design.

If you may just play some musicfrom the Sing Street soundtrack.

Ronny + Jose by Ricardo Quintana

Ronny is from Colombia, he is a superb photographer. I had the chance to take pictures of him and his partner Jose from Spain, both now currently living in a cool apartment in downtown Santiago - Chile. I got to say that in home shoots are the bomb, maybe is not always the best light but the ambiance and the intimacy that creates this scenery is the best. We played some cool and mellow music and started in their living room, the balcony and then to their room, that kind of flow is what I just enjoyed so much about in home shoots, so personal and unique for each family and couple. These two were fantastic, so natural and comfortable with each other-pure joy.

This set is one of the couple of shoots Ihadduring my two weeks visiting Chile.
